Este artículo analiza los órganos de poder municipales que, surgidos del colapso del Estado republicano tras el fracaso del golpe militar, gestionaron un espacio de retaguardia en la provincia de Málaga. El soporte documental del estudio es un conjunto de sumarios, instruidos por jueces militares a los dirigentes del proceso revolucionario en los primeros meses de la guerra civil. El conocimiento de sus experiencias, procesadas en un marco cronológico amplio, revela que la gestión política desarrollada a través de los «Comités» no fue improvisada. Sus testimonios permiten una visión alternativa al discurso que sobre ellos elaboraron los vencedores.
The aim of this article is to analyse the role of the new local authorities established after the State collapse in the Republican side in 1936, once the military coup failed, in the organisation of the rearguad in the province of Málaga. The research is based upon a series of judiciary proceedings against revolutionary leaders during the first months of the Civil War. Our exploration reveals that the local committees did not improvise their rule and the analysis of their policies allow us to construct an alternative view to the one defended by those who won the war, in relation to the revolutionary powers created in 1936.
